The Trillium convention is back!

Trillium chair:

Just as the ancient Phoenix obtained new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor, so the Ontario South Assembly Al-Anon/Alateen Trillium Convention will be reborn…

What a way to launch the re-blossoming of the Al-Anon/Alateen Trillium Convention in Ontario South! Thank you for making the Ontario South Assembly on-line Trillium event virtually perfect!

On the afternoon of September 10, 2022, over 150 members from six different countries, including states and provinces from coast to coast of North America, gathered virtually to celebrate Recovery & Service, and to reminisce about the role the Trillium Convention has played in Ontario South.  We laughed… we cried… we left with hearts full!

We were reminded that we are no longer alone. In fact, this is the theme of the 2023 convention!  It celebrates what we have discovered:  following our recent time of physical isolation, as well as the emotional/psychological/spiritual isolation that accompanies the family disease of alcoholism, we can turn to one another and share our experience, strength and hope on the path of recovery.

Details about the 2023 Trillium Convention are still being worked out.  We are planning a full weekend event, to be held in Oshawa in early- to mid-June 2023.

If you are interested in doing service, either with advance planning or at the event itself, please send an email to:

Stay tuned!

Ontario South’s Trillium Convention occurred in Toronto yearly from 1992 to 2013, with a final gathering in Richmond Hill in 2016. Each gathering took place over a weekend in early summer – a conference of various speakers, workshops, and social events organized and hosted by Al-Anon and Alateen, with a full companion program for our AA guests. Truly a Celebration of our Recovery!

After years of dormancy, Trillium will re-blossom in 2023! Following changes to the Trillium Charter, decided upon at Ontario South Assembly in 2021, as well as developments in technology that allow planning meetings to take place virtually, so arose an opportunity to learn from/build upon our experience and tap into a new energy of trusted servants.
