7th Tradition in Ontario South Assembly

The Al-Anon/Alateen Service Manual (P-24/27) states:
“In keeping with Tradition Seven, a group’s membership is the source of funds. Assistance from sources outside Al-Anon or Alateen violates this Tradition. There are no dues or fees to attend Al-Anon or Alateen meetings. Supporting Al-Anon and Alateen groups financially is a way for members to express their gratitude for the help they have received from the program, thus ensuring that Al-Anon and Alateen will be available when someone seeks recovery from living with the effects of alcoholism” (pg. 54-55)

What does Ontario South Assembly do for your Group?

AMIAS Certifications

Al-Anon Members in Alateen Service (AMIAS) are required to go through an initial certification process and a renewal every three years including obtaining a Vulnerable Sector Records Check. Every Alateen meeting is required to have at least one AMIAS as an Alateen Group Sponsor.

AWSC & Assembly

Business meetings where groups send their representatives to express their voice and vote on their behalf. AWSC is a smaller meeting to set the agenda for Assembly and make decisions on items that cannot wait for Assembly. In OSA, AWSC is held in May and Assembly in October of each year.

Maintain Archives

OSA maintains a temperature controlled storage unit for our archives. Groups are able to request archives for their Al-Anon event.

Open Lines

A newsletter published three times a year that forms the connection between the Executive, the Coordinators and the Groups. It is distributed by email to all Districts and subscribers.

OSA Website & Group Records

Current information about groups in OSA so that newcomers and members can find accurate information on meetings, events, and more in one convenient place.

Trillium Convention

A weekend conference of various speakers, workshops, and social events organized and hosted by OSA Al-Anon and Alateen, with a full companion program for AA guests. Truly a celebration of our recovery!
